50 Years of Interior Design at BDP
Exhibition Design
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Interior Design profession at BDP, our in-house team was tasked with creating a distinctive identity for an exhibition at the BDP London studio, including the promotional materials leading up to the event. The senior designer and I collaborated closely with the current interior design team to bring the exhibition space to life. The exhibition also featured a panel discussion and social event, which BDP hosted in partnership with Mix Interiors and USM.
The identity drew inspiration from archival photos of the team’s earliest projects and iconic furniture pieces featured in the exhibition. We aimed to capture the essence of 1973, the year the interior design team was founded, and to reflect the design themes of that era.
A key element of the identity was a motif of stripes, scaled at various sizes across different applications. This design choice was influenced by the palette of the archival photos od and the iconic USM Haller displays that BDP has utilised for decades.
